2009 Beeton Style-1 Tricone, bell brass body, serial number 012. This is a beautifully built resonator with the rich metallic bloom, sustain and detail that players associate with high end tricone instruments. Greg Beeton is regarded as Australias foremost builder of resophonic guitars. Since establishing Beeton Guitars in 1994, he has produced individually handcrafted instruments of exceptional quality, handling all metal work, woodwork, hand engraving and finishing himself. His guitars have been used by many leading Australian musicians including Bob Brozman, John Butler, Jeff Lang, Hatz Fitz, Fiona Boyes, Dom Turner and Phil Manning, along with a number of international artists and even a few Hollywood names. His output has always been limited and each instrument reflects careful craftsmanship and a deep understanding of traditional resonator design. This Style-1 Tricone captures that balance of tradition and refinement. The bell brass body delivers a warm and complex voice with plenty of projection, long sustain and the characteristic tricone shimmer. It is articulate, responsive and well balanced across the register whether played fingerstyle or with a slide. The mahogany neck has a comfortable slight V profile that sits naturally in the hand without being sharp or pronounced. Playability is smooth and even, and the guitar is surprisingly lively acoustically with a fine dynamic range. Condition is excellent with only light signs of handling and a tasteful natural patina beginning to develop in the brass. Comes in a Hiscox hardcase.
