Not being a mechanic, I’m not sure how useful this stool would be to someone working on a car since it sits pretty low, even at full extension. Then again, I don’t work on cars.It works for me and my needs when I’m doing things in the garage or around the house.The assembly is easy, and the result is a sturdy stool. The wheels roll easily, but I don’t know about their durability. For my garage and house, they will be fine since it’s all smooth surfaces.The reason for the four stars as opposed to five is that the seat itself doesn’t feel as if it’s supported across the full width.This means that when you are sitting on it, the center portion —about halfway from the center to the edge— feels well supported, but the outer part of the seat feels like it has little to no support. It almost feels like I’m sitting on a smaller seat than the actual width of the seat, giving the impression of being perched instead of seated. I’ve looked at the construction and don’t see a reason for it, but that’s how it feels. I suppose I will get used to it.To recap, this is a decent stool that fits my needs. The seat could offer a bit more support, but that’s not a deal-breaker for me since it’s only for occasional use. The trays are a bit small for some of my power tools, but they’re functional enough.
