I have been cutting vegetables with a standard knife forever, and it’s been fine, but recently discovered cutting carrots and potatoes with a wavy, crinkle cutter. With the dishes I make the gravy holds better on the vegetables so much better because of the crinkle surface. This spiral cutter is doing the same for me. It has made vegetable pieces more interesting to eat and look at. I have used this on cucumbers and it comes out really nicely. The texture is different because of the curly nature and I intake much more vegetable than if it were just single slices. I just insert the spiral shaft in the end of the cucumber and spin. Depending on if you are spinning from the top of bottom, the curly vegetable can get in the way of you spinning the tool but it’s a minor issue. The tool is easy to clean, easy to use and works well to cut up a whole cucumber. It’s plastic so we’ll see how it stands up to frequent use. It feels like it’s got a durable build so i am hopeful. For the cost, it’s a cool item to have in the kitchen. I have seen larger metal bladed hour glass shaped tools which I think would be much more difficult to clean. This tool makes it a piece of cake.
