With a bright beady eye, this sleek mouse is making keen observations. And noting them down too... how clever! The notebooks in this series are named after traditional Japanese dyes that lend their colours to each cover. The colour of this slim notebook is 'Ginnezu-iro' Ginnezu-iro (銀鼠色) is a traditional silver-grey colour. The name is a combination of two Japanese words: Gin (銀), meaning 'silver' and nezu or nezumi (鼠) which can mean 'mouse' or 'grey'. You can really see that mousey grey colour in the cover of this lovely notebook. The waxed paper cover has been pressed to give it a natural looking texture and the wax has been applied to give a subtle tint that enhances the original colour. It also gives the cover a slight transparency where the wax has soaked into the paper and the whole effect is intended to become worn and aged over time. The notebook contains 60 sheets of premium Japanese paper which is compatible not only with pencil and ballpoint but is also excellent for writing with a fountain pen or dip pen. A cotton thread binding completes the look of this charmingly characterful notebook. The notebook measures 9.1cm (3½") wide by 21cm (8¼") tall and is about 0.4cm (about ⅛") thick. Made in Japan.
