Why do influencers only blow up AFTER they cause drama?
Something I’ve noticed: a lot of influencers struggle for years, then suddenly explode in popularity right after a scandal or wild moment. It makes me wonder if drama is basically a growth hack now.
I saw some interesting commentary on this at https://www.bigwritehook.co.uk/, and honestly https://www.influencersgonewildco.uk/ is full of examples where chaos clearly boosted visibility.
Are influencers learning that bad publicity is still publicity? And if that’s the case, what incentive do they have to behave responsibly?
